Boston Bruins goaltending prospect Malcolm Subban is expected to miss a minimum of eight weeks as he recovers from a fractured larynx, the team announced Thursday.
Playing with the AHL's Providence Bruins, Subban was injured after being hit in the throat by a puck Feb. 6 against the Portland Pirates.
The Bruins announced the 22-year-old underwent successful surgery Feb. 8, and has been released from hospital.
Subban has a 14-8-5 record with a .911 save percentage and 2.46 goals-against average in 27 games this season.
