Patrick Kane is having a historic afternoon in Chicago.

With over five minutes remaining in the second period, the 27-year-old picked up his fourth point of the game by completing his second career regular-season hat trick. In doing so, the Blackhawks winger reached the 100-point plateau for the first time in his career, while giving his team a 6-0 lead against the Boston Bruins on Sunday.

He became the first Blackhawks player to record 100 points in a season since Jeremy Roenick hit the mark in three consecutive seasons, most recently in 1994. He also joins Pittsburgh Penguins forward Sidney Crosby and Evgeni Malkin as the only players to hit the 100-point mark in the past five seasons.

Kane now has six points in his past two games, as his line has caught fire once again with the playoffs approaching. Artemi Panarin has a goal and three assists Sunday, and eight points in his past two games, while Artem Anisimov has a goal and two assists against the Bruins.

Panarin's four-point night helped him reach a milestone of his own, becoming the first Blackhawks rookie to record 72 points since Kane in 2007-08. He also became the first Chicago rookie ever to post consecutive four-point games.

Kane increases his lead in the NHL scoring race to 12 points over Jamie Benn, and is now very likely to become the first American to win the Art Ross Trophy.
