Nintendo's NX console will be released in March 2017

New console, which remains a mystery, is thought to be a follow-up of the Wii U and could be a hybrid games and home entertainment system
Nintendo has confirmed that its next gaming platform, the NX, will be released globally in March 2017.
Unusually, the company made the announcement in its quarterly financial statement, telling shareholders: "For our dedicated video game platform business, Nintendo is currently developing a gaming platform codenamed 'NX' with a brand-new concept. NX will be launched in March 2017 globally."
