Portishead Releases Video for Their Stunning Cover of ABBA’s ‘SOS’ in Memory of Slain MP Jo Cox

The British band Portishead released a new music video for their cover of the classic ABBA song "SOS", which was featured on the soundtrack for the 2015 film High Rise, and dedicated it to the memory of slain Member of Parliament (MP) Jo Cox. While the original version of the song was high spirited and happy, the slow tempo, the flashing Morse code and the gorgeous wailing vocals of Beth Gibbons gave the Portishead version a somber and ominous feel more apropos to the terrible subject at hand.
