Michael Ridge glued a bird's skull to a piezoelectric buzzer (which works well as an acoustic pick-up) and used it as a record needle.

A new experimental vinyl playback piece depicting the beak of a seagull skull playing excerpts from a 7"^3 vinyl of British birdsong; a contact microphone aids with amplification. In its present form the video is a prototype / rough demonstration, however I think it works surprisingly well!
