Leonard Floyd gave Chicago Bears fans a brief scare Thursday when he was carted to the locker room during the first practice of this year's training camp.

As it turns out, the first-round linebacker wasn't forced to leave with any sort of injury.

Head coach John Fox announced shortly after the conclusion of practice that an illness, which Floyd had been dealing with throughout the week, was the reason for his early exit.

Further details on Floyd's condition weren't made available, but he'll likely make his return to the field at some point in the next few days, if not by tomorrow.

The former Georgia standout will have every opportunity to earn a primary pass-rush role with the reps he sees in training camp and preseason action. His addition is easily one of the most significant in rounding out what's quietly becoming a stout defensive front seven.
