Kellen Moore being forced to the sidelines with a broken fibula has quickly resulted in the Dallas Cowboys looking to address the depth at the most important position on the field.

Just one day after news of Moore's injury, Dallas is considering free agent Nick Foles and the possibility of adding a quarterback through trade, a source told Ed Werder of ESPN.

Foles, a fifth-year veteran, hit the open market last week upon being granted his request for release from the Los Angeles Rams.

Owner Jerry Jones had initially indicated that Foles wasn't an option for Dallas, but the injury to Moore now makes it a priority to find a capable No. 2 quarterback behind Tony Romo.

Foles started 11 games in his lone season with the Rams, completing 56.4 percent of his passes for 2,052 yards, seven touchdowns, and 10 interceptions.

His most productive season came as a 10-game starter for the Philadelphia Eagles in 2013, when he boasted an 8-2 record with a 64 percent completion rate, 2,891 yards, 27 touchdowns, and just two interceptions.
