Jordan Matthews gave the Philadelphia Eagles a brief scare at Friday's training camp practice when a low hit left him down on the field and favoring his left knee.

The third-year wideout was forced to the sidelines for the rest of the day as a result of the collision, but head coach Doug Pederson later explained that Matthews didn't sustain any sort of serious injury.

Matthews heads into the 2016 campaign with a stranglehold on the Eagles' No. 1 receiver job. Any missed time would have been costly for an offense transitioning to a new system under Pederson.

Philadelphia will likely be cautious with Matthews in the coming days, but early indications are that he should be back at practice as a full participant sooner rather than later.

The 24-year-old hauled in 85 receptions for 997 yards and eight touchdowns across 16 appearances and 12 starts as a sophomore last season.
