Broncos' Wolfe helped off practice field with ankle injury
Denver Broncos defensive tackle Derek Wolfe was forced to the sidelines with an apparent leg injury during Wednesday's practice.
Unable to put any weight on his left leg, Wolfe needed assistance to make his exit. Head coach Gary Kubiak later told reporters that the standout lineman rolled his ankle.
If there's no additional damage, it could be considered positive news that Wolfe escaped with a sprain.
The fifth-year veteran, who signed a lucrative contract extension during Denver's playoff run, remains an integral piece on what should once again be among the league's top defenses.
Second-round rookie Adam Gotsis would be in line for an increased workload if Wolfe misses any significant time leading up to the regular season.
