British telecom company Lovefone is currently in the midst of converting the iconic but underused red telephone boxes of London into tiny cell phone repair shops and charging stations and plan to expand this plan across England.

The advent of mobile technology has made the iconic red telephone boxes obsolete. Lovefone is bringing these listed structures back into public service by creating tiny mobile phone repair shops with a free charging service. Lovefone will start with locations in Greenwich and Knightsbridge and are planning another 6 boxes in London. The aim is to have 35 locations in London over the next 18 months with Franchise opportunities available outside London.

The company has also put together "The Chronicles of the Phone Box", an interactive look at how the phone box developed over time.

The worldwide recognised red phone box is one of the most iconic assets from England, together with Fish and Chips and Queen Elizabeth. In this interactive piece we run through the most different ones since the 1920s until the current one that can still be seen and used all over the UK.
