In a follow-up to the Cryptosporidium outbreak in three counties in Central Ohio, the case tally of the protozoan parasitic outbreak now stands at 822 in Columbus, Franklin and Delaware Counties. Cryptosporidium is a protozoan parasite of both medical and veterinary importance. There are two species associated with human infection; Cryptosporidium parvum and C. hominis. ["]
