Auston Matthews did what he does again: score. The 19-year-old finished off a 2-on-1 perfectly, going roof on Detroit Red Wings goaltender Jared Coreau after a feed from Connor Brown.

Matthews would add another one in overtime, after the Maple Leafs blew a 4-1 lead and were forced to extra time. Toronto took a 5-4 decision, and Matthews - who's scored 14 in his last 17 games - now has 20 on the season, one more than Laine.

The two goals on the evening were likely a bit more special for the Arizona product, coming outdoors at the Centennial Classic.

Matthews' 20 goals tie him with Jeff Carter for second in the NHL. Only Sidney Crosby's got more - 26.
