Markus Granlund's breakthrough campaign was realized through unfavorable circumstances.
Two days after the Vancouver Canucks announced Granlund would have season-ending surgery, a report out of Finland revealed the center suffered significant damage to his wrist in late October:
Granlund says he broke ligaments in his wrist 25th of Oct vs OTT. Somewhat similar what Gudbranson had. Takes 3-5 months. #Canucks

Granlund scored 19 goals - second on the team only to Bo Horvat - and counted 32 points before his season came to a close.
