  • After taking a 1-0 lead on a first-period power-play goal by Ryan O'Reilly - named Canada's player of the game - France took a 2-1 lead in the second period on goals by Oliver Dame-Malka and Damien Fleury.
  • Canada rebounded with a late second-period goal by captain Claude Giroux and a fluke goal by Marc-Edouard Vlasic early in the third.
  • Chad Johnson turned away 22 shots to record his second win of the tournament, while Florian Hardy made 32 saves in a losing effort.
  • With the win, Canada improves to 4-0-0-0, while France falls to 1-1-0-2.
  • The Canadians will be back in action Saturday against Switzerland, while France will take on Belarus on Friday.
