India's Cow Police Are Bad for Cows

By banning the sale of cattle for slaughter, India's policy is harming meat and leather traders, poor people, indebted farmers. But all of this misses one crucial point. The regulations that are intended to protect cows will reduce the number of cows in India, and might eliminate certain breeds altogether.
