Critical Thinking Doesn't Mean What Most People Think

Too often in practice, people equate critical thinking with merely being skeptical. Or they will interpret it to mean that, when confronted with something that they disagree with, they either stop listening or attempt to "educate" the speaker about why their statement is flawed. People are much less likely to endure the uncomfortable task of examining their own beliefs.
