As immersive experiences continue to plant themselves firmly into popular culture, Icelandair has announced that it will present its own, titled "Opening Flight," as a way to celebrate its 80th anniversary.

The show is being promoted by the airline as the world's first transatlantic immersive theater performance and will be presented in three acts, starting on September 8 from London:

Act 1: London to Keflavik - departs September 8, 2017

Act 2: Icelandair Saga Lounge - Keflavik airport

Act 3: Keflavik to New York - departs September 8, 2017

"Opening Flight" is hosted by, and starring, Icelandair employees and it will "transport passengers" from the airline's beginnings in 1937, through to the present day and into the future.

I'm super curious to see how they'll pull this off, though it sounds like the only way to see this exclusive "in-flight entertainment" is to win a +1 seat from the airline. I threw my name in the hat because, well, you never know.
