How To Avoid Downloading 300 Episodes Of Planet Money
We've had some technical problems with our podcast feed recently. Some of you had hundreds of old episodes automatically pushed to your phone. Sorry!
As a temporary fix, we shortened our feed to just a few episodes.
Next Tuesday, we will update our feed to include 300 old episodes. (Some people like to go back through our archive.)
To avoid automatically downloading hundreds of old episodes, we recommend a quick change to the settings on your phone.
Podcast apps generally allow you to limit the number of episodes you download. You should limit the number of Planet Money episodes to something reasonable. Like, say, one. Or three. Even five. Don't limit by time ("past week," or whatever).
Here's how to do this on Apple's Podcasts app on the iPhone:
Step 1: Open the Podcasts app
Step 2: Open Planet Money
Step 3: Tap the Planet Money logo up top
NPRStep 4: Hit Settings
NPRStep 5: Select Limit Episodes
NPRStep 6: Select 1, 2, 3, 5 or 10 Most Recent. Note: Do not select any of the time-based options! Do not leave it on the Default!
NPRIn the meantime, you can find all our old episodes on our podcast page. It's an infinite scroll so keep scrolling down.
