Tennessee Titans rookie wide receiver Corey Davis will undergo an MRI to determine the severity of a hamstring injury suffered in training camp, the team announced Thursday.

A highly-touted first-round talent out of Western Michigan, Davis joined the Titans with the expectation that he'd be quick to earn a role as Marcus Mariota's top target.

He'd presumably continue on that path if the injury is minor, but any sort of lengthy absence would be a setback.

A timetable for his return should be established when the team medical staff receives the results of the tests.

The 22-year-old being forced to the sidelines will at least temporarily result in an increased practice workload for veteran free-agent addition Eric Decker and third-round pick Taywan Taylor.

Davis was selected with the No. 5 overall pick after a stellar college career in which he set Mid-American conference records for receptions (331), receiving yards (5,278), and touchdown catches (52).
