Bills confirm Taylor cleared concussion protocol, expect him to start Week 1
Buffalo Bills quarterback Tyrod Taylor is expected to start Week 1 against the New York Jets after being officially cleared from the NFL's concussion protocol, the team announced Wednesday.
Taylor was elected as a team captain for Sunday's game.
According to Joe Buscaglia of WKBW, head coach Sean McDermott's rallying cry for Taylor was: "Go out and do your job."
Taylor suffered his head injury early in the Bills' third preseason game against the Baltimore Ravens after going just 1-for-3 through the air for a single yard.
He played just one of the Bills' two games against the Jets last season, going 18-for-30 for 297 yards, three touchdowns and one interception, while rushing twice for a total of 25 yards in a 37-31 loss at home in Week 2.
