Report: Kaepernick working out every day in N.J. eyeing return to NFL
Colin Kaepernick is still working out every day, in hopes of returning to the NFL, the quarterback said to Jason La Canfora of CBS Sports.
The free agent spoke to La Canfora off-camera Saturday night and revealed he's been throwing every day on a remote field in New Jersey.
"He's just looking for an opportunity. He understands that there's controversy and things that come from him but as a football player, he's hoping he'll be judged in that manner," La Canfora said Sunday on "The NFL Today."
Kaepernick explained to him that he has opted not to speak publicly because when he's done so in the past, it's been considered a distraction. Instead, his agent has been advocating for him and has been in touch with all 32 teams, La Canfora reports.
"Colin told me explicitly, I'll go anywhere to work out for a team," he said.
Kaepernick began sitting during the national anthem last season as an act of protest against racial injustice in America. Former Green Beret Nate Boyer asked him to kneel instead, and he did so for the rest of the season.
Kaepernick reiterated to La Canfora that he doesn't plan on kneeling for the anthem going forward and will stand, if given the opportunity.
He has also observed the protests that have taken place this season and divulged that no one from league has contacted him regarding any discussion involving social activism.
