Manning shoots down Jaguars trade rumors
Although the New York Giants remain without their first win, Eli Manning isn't planning on going anywhere.
Manning, along with Odell Beckham Jr., have faced the brunt of criticism for the team's unexpected 0-5 start, and many have been quick to completely write the quarterback off this fall.
With former Giants head coach Tom Coughlin as the executive vice president of football operations for the Jacksonville Jaguars, and Blake Bortles failing to impress in the AFC South, some have speculated about a potential trade.
Manning isn't buying that notion, nor does he encourage it.
"I've not heard [the Jacksonville speculation], I've not felt it, not thinking about it," Manning said Thursday to Bob Glauber of Newsday. "I don't want to play anywhere else. I love this team, love this organization, and I want to be here."
Manning is one of the most decorated players in franchise history, steering the Giants to two Super Bowl victories over the New England Patriots after being traded to the team on draft night in 2004.
With his career admittedly in its latter stages, Manning doesn't want to go anywhere, despite the Giants remaining arguably the league's most disappointing team this year.
"That's always the goal," Manning said. "You always want to come to a place and make an impact, stay in one spot, and I think that's always the mindset. I hope that will be the case. Obviously, in this league, things can change, and if we have to make decisions, we'll figure it out."
