Kaepernick's lawyer releases statement on grievance filed against NFL

Colin Kaepernick's legal counsel, Mark Geragos, released a statement regarding the grievance the free-agent quarterback filed against the NFL for collusion on Sunday morning:

The crux of the grievance cites a direct correlation between Kaepernick's ongoing unemployment and his "principled and peaceful political protest."

While not directly involved in the signal-caller's legal action, the NFL Players Association has since pledged its support to his efforts via press release.

Kaepernick last played for the San Francisco 49ers in 2016 and has been a free agent since opting out of his contract this past March.
