Houston Texans wide receiver DeAndre Hopkins took a personal day Friday due to owner Bob McNair's inflammatory remarks about players, a source told ESPN's Adam Schefter.

McNair compared NFL players protesting police brutality and racial inequality to "inmates running the prison," which caused the entire team to nearly walk out before being coaxed back, according to ESPN's Adam Schefter and Sarah Barshop.

Hopkins is still expected to play Sunday against the Seattle Seahawks.

The standout receiver has been the fulcrum of the passing game, catching 37 passes for 382 yards and six touchdowns.
