Texans trade Duane Brown to Seahawks for Lane, picks

The Houston Texans traded left tackle Duane Brown to the Seattle Seahawks in exchange for cornerback Jeremy Lane, a 2018 fifth-round pick, and a 2019 second-round pick, sources told ESPN's Adam Schefter.

Lane and Brown both appeared to confirm the trade via social media:

Brown played his first game of the season Sunday against the Seahawks after returning from a contract holdout. He made strong comments against owner Bob McNair's remarks about "inmates running the prison."

The move addresses a longtime need for the Seahawks, who have struggled to build a solid offensive line and have failed to address the need in free agency and the draft.

Brown, who had spent his entire 12-year career with the Texans, will likely replace Rees Odhiambo at left tackle, though whether he'll be active next Sunday against the Washington Redskins hasn't been confirmed. He has two years remaining on his contract, with a cap hit of $4.976 million left in 2017 and a $9.75-million hit next season, though NFL Network's Ian Rapoport reports Brown will rework his deal.
