Report: Gordon to meet with NFL about reinstatement; Browns considering trade
Suspended Cleveland Browns wide receiver Josh Gordon is set to meet with the NFL about his potential reinstatement Wednesday, a source told ESPN's Adam Schefter.
Schefter originally reported the meeting was scheduled for Tuesday.
However, Gordon might not head back to Cleveland.
The Browns could look to trade Gordon before Tuesday's 4 p.m. ET deadline, pending his reinstatement, added Schefter, though it's unclear if the meeting taking place Wednesday instead of Tuesday will alter Cleveland's plans.
If Gordon is reinstated, it'll almost certainly be on a conditional basis.
He was denied reinstatement in May, and later entered a 90-day program - believed to be his fourth known trip to rehab - on June 21 to help convince the NFL to lift his indefinite ban for multiple violations of the league's substance abuse policy.
He left rehab Sept. 21 and remained hopeful of getting another shot in the NFL.
The pass-catcher hasn't played since December 2014, but was considered an elite talent after leading the league in receiving yards in 2013.
