The NFL saw a handful of team's seasons take a turn for the worse in Week 9.

While the Houston Texans could see their troubles coming when Deshaun Watson was lost for the season ahead of their matchup with the Indianapolis Colts, three teams almost certainly watched their playoff hopes disappear in unraveling fashion on Sunday.

Tampa Bay Buccaneers

Entering the season as a supposed dark horse Super Bowl contender, the Tampa Bay Buccaneers looked nothing close to the offensive juggernaut they were expected to be.

After being dominated by the New Orleans Saints through the first half, team captains Mike Evans and Jameis Winston had their frustrations boil over as rookie corner Marshon Lattimore flustered their passing attack. Winston, who exited the game with a reported shoulder injury, stepped on the field and initiated an incident that subsequently caused Evans to lose his mind.

Despite deserving to be ejected, neither Bucs player was kicked out of the game, though the emotional damage was done and the team was clearly rattled.

Tampa falls to 2-6 and now sits last in the NFC South after the 30-10 loss, as its franchise quarterback continues to try to fight through the shoulder injury that has bothered him for the last four weeks - each of those games resulting in defeat.

Cincinnati Bengals

The Cincinnati Bengals' poor performance along their offensive line somewhat derailed their season from the jump, but it all hit the fan on Sunday against the Jacksonville Jaguars.

A.J. Green had been a consummate professional as the leader and most-talented player of the Bengals offense, until he came up against Jalen Ramsey. The Jaguars stud defensive back held Green to one catch for six yards through the first half and apparently had success getting under the receiver's skin, as the generally soft-spoken veteran wideout channeled his inner Georges St-Pierre.

Green and Ramsey were both ejected for fighting, though it seemed the receiver did most of the damage. Without Green, the Bengals couldn't score any points in the second half, amassing just 165 total yards as they dipped to 3-5 with the 23-7 loss.

Given the excessive violence Green attacked Ramsey with, the Bengals may need to prepare to be without him for another week.

Denver Broncos

When Brock Osweiler was named starter this week against the NFL's top-seeded team, you knew it wasn't going to be pretty - and you were right.

However, it was not just the former $37-million man who embarrassed the Denver Broncos organization against the Philadelphia Eagles. The top-notch defense, which has served as the club's identity the last few seasons, was a total dumpster fire against the Eagles, giving up 51 points for the first time since 2010.

With running back Jay Ajayi playing in his first game for Philadelphia since being traded Tuesday, the Broncos conceded 197 rushing yards, including a 46-yard score by the newest Eagle. Carson Wentz also lit up the Broncos' secondary with four passing touchdowns.

"You can't put anything on the offense," star linebacker Von Miller said after the game, according to Nicki Jhabvala of The Denver Post. "We got that part today and on defense we pissed the bed... It looks bad. 51 points is terrible."

Yes. Yes it is.
