Patriots, NFC South dominate Week 10 Player of the Week awards
Tom Brady garnered his 30th career AFC Offensive Player of the Week award after throwing for 266 yards and three touchdowns in a Sunday night win over the Denver Broncos. It's the New England Patriots quarterback's third such award of the season.
Jacksonville Jaguars corner A.J. Bouye was named AFC Defensive Player of the Week for his crucial play in a 20-17 overtime win over the Los Angeles Chargers on Sunday. In overtime, Bouye intercepted Chargers quarterback Philip Rivers and returned the pick 51 yards, setting up the game-winning field goal.
Patriots running back Dion Lewis took home the AFC Special Teams Player of the Week after recording a 103-yard kickoff return touchdown in a 41-16 victory over the Broncos.
NFCCam Newton won his ninth career NFC Offensive Player of the Week award - the most in Carolina Panthers franchise history - after running roughshod over the Miami Dolphins Monday night. The former MVP threw for 254 yards and four touchdowns, adding 95 yards on the ground - including a dazzling 69-yard run - in a 45-21 blowout win.
Atlanta Falcons defensive end Adrian Clayborn registered a career-best six sacks and two forced fumbles in a 27-7 win over the Dallas Cowboys. Clayborn took advantage of the absence of Cowboys left tackle Tyron Smith to earn NFC Defensive Player of the Week honors.
Greg Zuerlein is petitioning to have the NFC Special Teams Player of the Week award renamed in his honor. The Los Angeles Rams kicker won it for the second time this season after nailing four field goals, including a 50-yarder, in a 33-7 defeat of the Houston Texans on Sunday. Zuerlein was also the NFC Special Teams Player of the Month in October.
