Atlanta Falcons running back Devonta Freeman has cleared concussion protocol, paving the way for a return to action after a two-game absence.

"He's back practicing today so he's been cleared through the protocol and we're pumped to have him back in action," head coach Dan Quinn said on 92.9 The Game on Wednesday.

Freeman hasn't played since Week 10, when he got in two carries before he left an eventual 27-7 win against the Dallas Cowboys with a concussion. He appeared to be injured on a helmet-to-helmet hit.

The Falcons managed to chalk up three consecutive wins with Freeman out of the lineup, as Tevin Coleman took up the bulk of the workload and has since emerged as the team's leading rusher.

Atlanta enters Week 13 a game behind the New Orleans Saints and Carolina Panthers for the division lead.
