The New York Giants are expected to start Eli Manning at quarterback in their next game against the Dallas Cowboys, ESPN's Jordan Raanan reports.

The move comes after the Giants reportedly fired head coach Ben McAdoo and general manager Jerry Reese on Monday.

Manning reportedly told interim head coach Steve Spagnuolo that he wants to start again Tuesday during an appearance on WFAN.

Team owner John Mara said on Wednesday that he initiated the conversation with Reese and McAdoo to take a look at the team's other quarterbacks. As a result, Eli Manning was benched in Sunday's loss to the Oakland Raiders and his consecutive starts streak of 210 games was snapped, now to seemingly miss only one game.

Backup Geno Smith went 21-for-34 for 212 yards and a touchdown in the 24-17 loss.

Manning said after the game that he plans on playing next season.
