The Denver Broncos retained first-year head coach Vance Joseph after a disappointing season, but the coaching staff in its entirety underwent significant change.

Hours after announcing Joseph will stay on for the 2018 season, the Broncos fired assistant head coach Eric Studesville, special teams coordinator Brock Olivo, offensive line coach Jeff Davidson, wide receivers coach Tyke Tolbert, outside linebackers coach Fred Pagac, and assistant defensive backs coach Johnnie Lynn, the team announced.

Offensive coordinator Bill Musgrave and defensive coordinator Joe Woods are safe, however.

Super Bowl champions just two seasons ago, the Broncos failed to make the playoffs last year and slumped to 5-11 this campaign.

The team finished 17th in total offense, which is what likely led to the purge on the offensive side of the coaching staff. The defense finished the year ranked third in the league.
