Devonta Freeman was present and accounted for in the Atlanta Falcons' starting lineup throughout the end of the season, but it is now clear the star running back was not 100 percent healthy.

Freeman opened up about his fitness following his team's 15-10 loss to the Philadelphia Eagles on Saturday, explaining he played the end of the season with both a sprained posterior cruciate ligament and a sprained medial collateral ligament, each in his right knee, according to Vaughn McClure of ESPN.

Freeman confirmed he suffered the injuries in the Falcons' Week 17 matchup against the Carolina Panthers.

"It was tough, but the game was on the line,'' Freeman said. "It was really more like a PCL, and I really started feeling stuff on my PCL. But that's no excuse. You know what I mean? You just have to play.''

Freeman's production was limited against the Eagles, rushing for just seven yards on 10 carries while adding 26 receiving yards on five catches with his team's lone touchdown.

The running back addressed the possibility of offseason surgery, but said he was not sure yet if he will go under the knife.
