The Arizona Cardinals announced Monday the hiring of Steve Wilks as their new head coach on a four-year contract with a team option for a fifth season.
Wilks served as the Carolina Panthers' defensive coordinator for the 2017 season, but had been employed by the Panthers in different capacities since 2012. He has coached in the NFL since 2006, spending time with the San Diego Chargers and Chicago Bears.
Star Cardinals cornerback Patrick Peterson appeared to share his thoughts on the hire:
I LOVE IT.
