New England Patriots star tight end Rob Gronkowski was present at practice Saturday for the first time since the AFC Championship Game against the Jacksonville Jaguars, according to Mike Reiss of ESPN.

Gronkowski missed the second half of last week's game after suffering a concussion on a hit from Jaguars safety Barry Church. He was seen Saturday running drills and catching passes in helmet and pads.

Despite being at practice, the 28-year-old is still in the concussion protocol, according to Reiss.

Gronkowski's presence Saturday represents an important step toward his potential return to the starting lineup for Super Bowl LII. The Patriots will look to capture their sixth Super Bowl victory - and third in the last four seasons - when they take on the Philadelphia Eagles.
