Gurley earns Offensive Player of the Year award

Los Angeles Rams running back Todd Gurley was named NFL Offensive Player of the Year on Saturday.

Gurley's teammate, Aaron Donald, captured Defensive Player of the Year earlier in the evening. The duo becomes the first pair of teammates to win Offensive and Defensive Player of the Year honors since Jamal Lewis and Ray Lewis in 2003 with the Baltimore Ravens.

It was revealed that Gurley earned 37 votes, Pittsburgh Steelers wide receiver Antonio Brown received eight, New England Patriots quarterback Tom Brady gained four, and Houston Texans wide receiver DeAndre Hopkins obtained one.

The 23-year-old rushed for 1,305 yards and 13 touchdowns, adding 64 receptions for 788 yards and six touchdowns in 15 games.

Gurley was an integral part of the Rams' ascension in 2017, helping the team win the NFC West for the first time since 2003.
