As they turn their attention away from Josh McDaniels, the Indianapolis Colts are expected to file an interview request with Super Bowl-winning Philadelphia Eagles offensive coordinator Frank Reich for their vacant head coaching role, Tom Pelissero and Mike Garafolo of NFL Network report.

The Colts are expected to limit their reopened coaching search to three candidates.

The Colts were prepared to introduce McDaniels as their new head coach Wednesday, but he spurned the franchise late Tuesday night to remain as the New England Patriots' offensive coordinator.

As a result, they have had to scramble to find a suitable option.

Reich has had a hand in molding Carson Wentz into an MVP candidate in just his second season in the NFL. In Wentz's absence due to a knee injury, backup Nick Foles led the Eagles to a Super Bowl triumph on Sunday.

Indianapolis general manager Chris Ballard will hold a news conference at 11 a.m. ET on Wednesday.
