NHL hands down fines to Byfuglien, Engelland, Bowey
The NHL's Department of Player Safety was busy Wednesday afternoon, handing out fines to three different players.
Most notable was Winnipeg Jets rearguard Dustin Byfuglien's $5,000 fine for slashing Washington Capitals forward Jay Beagle on Tuesday night in Winnipeg.
Winnipeg's Dustin Byfuglien fined $5,000, the maximum allowable under the CBA, for slashing Washington's Jay Beagle.

Also receiving fines were Vegas Golden Knights blue-liner Deryk Engelland and Capitals defenseman Madison Bowey.
Vegas' Deryk Engelland fined $2,688.17, the maximum allowable under the CBA, for cross-checking Chicago's Brandon Saad.

Washington's Madison Bowey fined $1,890.68, the maximum allowable under the CBA, for interference on Winnipeg's Matt Hendricks.
