Free-agent cornerback Vontae Davis is visiting with the Buffalo Bills on Thursday, a source told ESPN's Adam Schefter.

It's Davis' first visit as a free agent. He was released from the Indianapolis Colts on Nov. 9 after being benched against the Houston Texans in Week 9. He underwent surgery in December for a core muscle injury.

The 29-year-old was reportedly medically cleared Monday.

Davis played just five games this season, recording 21 combined tackles and two passes defended.

The nine-year vet made the Pro Bowl in 2014 and 2015 while with the Colts. He was originally drafted 25th overall by the Miami Dolphins in 2009.

The Bills could have a need at cornerback if they choose not to re-sign E.J. Gaines. Gaines played 11 games and graded as Pro Football Focus' No. 13 cornerback in his one season with Buffalo. Backups Leonard Johnson and Shareece Wright played 15 and 12 games, respectively, in 2017, and are also set to hit free agency at the turn of the league year March 14.
