Report: Bears cut Jerrell Freeman
by from on (#3GBCJ)
The Chicago Bears released linebacker Jerrell Freeman, a source told Mike Florio of Pro Football Talk.
Chicago will gain nearly $3 million in cap space by cutting the veteran.
Freeman was suspended for 10 games of the 2017 season for violating the NFL's policy on performance-enhancing substances - his second suspension in less than a year - and had just one year remaining on his three-year, $12-million contract.
The 31-year-old was a strong performer for the Bears and Colts from 2012-15 when on the field, but could struggle to garner much free-agent attention considering the risk he carries due to his pair of suspensions.
