The Jacksonville Jaguars improved their outlook for the 2018 offseason while securing quarterback Blake Bortles through the 2020 campaign.

Bortles' salary-cap number will be just $10 million for next season, according to ESPN's Adam Schefter. His reported three-year, $54-million extension brings the number down from the $19 million it was set to be had he played out the season under the fifth-year option of his rookie contract. In doing so, it also opens up $9 million in cap space for the Jaguars.

The Jaguars are now set to have roughly $30 million in cap space entering the 2018 league year on March 14, according to Over The Cap.

Bortles will reportedly earn $26.5 million in guaranteed money on the new deal.
