Elway: Broncos plan to bring back Thomas, Sanders
Denver Broncos general manager John Elway provided several significant updates on his roster Wednesday.
Speaking at the NFL Scouting Combine, Elway said the plan is to bring back receivers Demaryius Thomas and Emmanuel Sanders.
Thomas is entering the fourth season of a five-year deal and Sanders is entering the second of a three-year extension. Both playmakers come with expensive price tags, but Elway isn't in the business of rebuilding.
"Life's too short to rebuild in the NFL," the gregarious GM said.
The future is much more cloudy for corner Aqib Talib and running back C.J. Anderson. Talib is due $11 million in 2018 and Anderson is scheduled to earn $4.5 million in each of the next two seasons.
"I'm not going to guarantee they'll be back but I'm not going to say they're gone either," Elway added.
