Report: Branden Albert tackled cop after being tased during jewelry store arrest
Former Pro Bowl offensive tackle Branden Albert was arrested Wednesday in Atlanta after an altercation with a police officer at a jewelry store, and some crazy details of the incident emerged Friday.
Albert attempted to access a part of the shop where customers are not allowed and "punched a jewelry cabinet which left a very large hole" when confronted by the owner, according to TMZ Sports.
The store's security guard - an off-duty police officer - approached Albert, who said he would "kill" the owner and then pushed the cop and tried to leave.
The officer then used his taser and knocked Albert to the ground, but the 6-foot-5, 314-pounder apparently pulled out the prongs, got back up, and tackled the cop during a subsequent chase.
Albert was arrested for damage to property and obstruction of law enforcement and remains in jail as of Friday morning. The officer suffered minor injuries.
