It sounds like the Seattle Seahawks aren't done restructuring their defense.

After reportedly trading defensive end Michael Bennett to the Philadelphia Eagles on Wednesday afternoon, Seattle is planning to release cornerback Richard Sherman within the next couple of days, according to Michael Silver of NFL Network.

Silver added that if Sherman doesn't land a big deal elsewhere, the Seahawks would be interested in bringing him back at a lower salary.

Sherman, who will turn 30 later this month, is due a base salary of $11 million in 2018 with a cap hit of $13.2 million.

After making four consecutive Pro Bowl appearances, Sherman saw his run end this past season after playing in just nine games due to an Achilles injury. He recorded two interceptions with seven passes defensed and a fumble recovery.
