The Tampa Bay Buccaneers extended wide receiver Mike Evans through the 2023 season, the team confirmed Friday.

Tampa Bay did not confirm terms of the deal, but sources told ESPN's Adam Schefter that Evans signed a $82.5-million extension, with $55 million guaranteed.

Bucs Nation, I'm excited to announce I will be spending the next several seasons in Tampa Bay with the Buccaneers with one goal in mind: winning a Super Bowl with my teammates. I want to thank the Bucs, from the owners to the front office, for believing in me and allowing me to take care of my family. I want to also thank my agents; Deryk Gilmore and Darren Jones for all of their hard work. I'm going to continue to strive for greatness on the field as well as in my community. #BUCSNATION! Evans' $16.5-million annual average value is the second-highest among receivers in the league, trailing only Pittsburgh Steelers star Antonio Brown.

The 24-year-old has been the focal point of the Buccaneers' passing game since being selected seventh overall in the 2014 NFL Draft out of Texas A&M. Evans recorded 71 receptions for 1,001 yards and five touchdowns in 15 games during the 2017 season.
