Free-agent cornerback Richard Sherman and the San Francisco 49ers are in talks on a potential three-year contract, he told Josina Anderson of ESPN.

Sherman is reportedly scheduled to visit the Detroit Lions next week, but it remains to be seen if the 49ers will let him out of San Francisco without locking up his services.

The four-time All-Pro was released by the Seattle Seahawks Friday following a seven-year tenure with the club. He's recovering from a torn Achilles that cut short his 2017 campaign after nine games.

The Lions, Tennessee Titans, Oakland Raiders, Houston Texans, Tampa Bay Buccaneers, and Green Bay Packers have also expressed interest in Sherman, who turns 30 at the end of March.

Sherman, who went to college in the northern California region at Stanford, previously indicated he's looking to sign with a contending team in a market he'll be comfortable in.
