Rams' McVay says renewed rivalry with 49ers is fun, exciting for division
A new era has dawned in the NFC West. One in which the Legion of Boom may be dismantled, the Los Angeles Rams are the kings of the division, and the San Francisco 49ers are the up-and-comers.
Following a flurry of movement, including the Rams trading for star corners Marcus Peters and Aqib Talib, and the 49ers agreeing to terms with former Seahawks corner Richard Sherman, the longtime rivals can't wait to go at it.
"I think it's fun to go against guys like that," Rams head coach Sean McVay said of the 49ers, according to team reporter Kristen Lago. "I think for our division as a whole, you're excited about the competitiveness. I don't know that I really can say I'm excited, but it's going to be a great challenge for us going against them again next year."

McVay and Niners head coach Kyle Shanahan are considered the new breed of the coaching fraternity, and quarterbacks Jared Goff and Jimmy Garoppolo may be the league's next stars at the position. They'll all have to wage battle twice a year for as long as they compete in the same division.
"I always joke with Kyle, 'You know, I wish you were in another division,'" McVay said. "But it will be fun competing against those guys and Jimmy did a great job for them."
