A physician, educator and researcher dubbed an advocate for change was awarded the 2018 Elizabeth J. Latimer prize in palliative care. Samantha Winemaker is an associate clinical professor of medicine at McMaster University's Michael G. DeGroote School of Medicine and a palliative care consultant with the Greater Hamilton Palliative Care Outreach Team.
