Even Protectionists Agree That Tariffs Will Make Us Poorer

A new study released this week by the Coalition for a Prosperous America (CPA), a protectionist interest group, concludes that the tariffs will result in both net employment losses and reduced economic activity. The study also finds that the tariffs will leave Americans marginally poorer, predicting a decrease in U.S. GDP of $1.4 billion.
