Philadelphia Eagles defensive end Michael Bennett intends to surrender himself to the authorities Monday after he was indicted Friday for the felony charge of injury of the elderly, his attorney told USA TODAY's Tom Schad and A.J. Perez.

Bennett is currently out of the country.

Houston police alleged the 32-year-old forced his way through security at NRG Stadium in Houston following Super Bowl LI, specifically pushing past a 66-year-old paraplegic woman, who suffered injuries including a sprained shoulder.

Bennett allegedly had a confrontation with an officer whom he swore at before making his way to the field to see his brother, Martellus, who was playing for the New England Patriots at the time.

Michael was indicted by a Harris County grand jury and a warrant was issued for his arrest.

The NFL is looking into the incident.
