The page was launched shortly after news of the accident broke Friday night by Sylvie Kellington, a resident of Humboldt, Saskatchewan, whose son played for the Broncos' Bantam A team this season.
In 16 hours, the page managed to raise over $850,000 and less than an hour later it was up to over $1 million. NHLers such as Tyler Bozak and Brayden Schenn have donated to the cause. The Calgary Flames and Toronto Maple Leafs each donated $10,000.
